Health Insurance

It is important to note that the VSBMIC is not wedded to any particular health insurance company. Serving as a broker, VSBMIC routinely performs a market comparison of all major health insurance companies for our clients. Our comparisons show concrete rates for a variety of products from all major health insurance companies.

The popular Anthem/VSB program protects nearly 6,000 lawyers, family members and staff. PPO, HMO and HSA options are available. Thanks to the Virginia State Bar’sendorsement, groups receive Value-Added Benefits, or extra benefits at no additional cost. These benefits apply to all group Anthem/VSB products. To be eligible for this coverage, the firm must be located in the Anthem Virginia service area. Anthem’s service area in Virginia, excludes the city of Fairfax, the Town of Vienna and the area east of State Route 123.

The VSBMIC also guides individual VSB members, staff members, and family members in getting individual health insurance. Individuals do not pay a nickel extra by allowing VSBMIC to be their broker than if they contact the insurance companies directly and go through the health insurance maze alone.

Dental and Vision Insurance

The Virginia State Bar Members’ Insurance Center can assist an individual or an entire firm with dental and vision insurance.

Medicare Supplements

Should anyone in your group be approaching age 65 sometime in the next year, please call us and we will assist in getting these people a Medicare supplement.

Coverage for Dependents After Age 26

Anthem and most insurance companies require dependents to come off their parent’s group plan by the end of the month when they reach age 26. At no additional cost, we can assist in securing other coverage for dependents aging off of their parents’ plan.
